ProjectJoint Venture of I-69 and Trans-Texas Corridor Mobility Partners CustomerTexas Turnpike Authority, a division of TxDOT Project Management TeamJacobs Carter Burgess, Halcrow Inc., Renolds, Smith, and Hills OverviewThe I-69 Trans-Texas Corridor is a project that will improve overall traffic mobility in the South and Northeast Texas area. I-69 is the shortest route between the Northeast and South Texas; it will reduce travel time, fuel consumption, and costs and serve the largest segments of U.S. trade with Mexico and Canada. I-69 is expected to increase economic activity throughout the eight state corridor, where 4.2 million residents live below poverty level. I-69 is also estimated to spawn more than 40,000 new jobs by 2025, resulting in $12.8 billion in additional wages and $24 billion in added value. For HBMG’s role as the Information Technology sub consultant for the 10-to-50 year Interstate Highway 69 TxDOT transportation project, HBMG provided operations management, network infrastructure, and electronic document management.
CollaborationNetworking: HBMG’s primary role in supporting the network infrastructure and telecommunications involves the installation and maintenance of all necessary components. As a full-service provider, HBMG tailored hardware and software services to the Texas Turnpike Authority, established help desk operations, engaged in software deployment and updates, managed infrastructure, tracked assets, and trained users. HBMG’s help desk serves as the central point for all problems related to IT, ECM, and software development.ECM: HBMG gathered and analyzed the ECM requirement, then installed and configured the eLogs module of HBMG’s eManagers suite. HBMG trained users and migrated existing documents (paper and electronic) to eLogs. The project’s library currently holds over 2,100 documents. HBMG also established information handling processes for the project and continues to provide ECM user support and training, ECM system administration, and ECM extensions and reports for the project. HBMG also supplements the client’s staff with document management specialists for day-to-day document control operations. HBMG performs QA on its systems to ensure smooth operations. The I-69 ENV library is a standalone version of eManagers with the eLogs and PI Logs modules. It was implemented in June 2008 and holds 29,100 documents. |
